Morning Meeting

At the call of "Chickadee!" the students gather to begin the day with a moment of togetherness, sharing, and learning. Discussing the day of the week, weather and color of the sky all teach the children to tune into the world around them, while stories and singing allow their imaginations to fire up and explore.

Seasonal Celebration

By remaining outside nearly every day (only in the case of extreme weather do Robin's Nesters head inside), the children are able to witness and celebrate the changing of the seasons, from gathering sap and watching the trees bud in the spring, to the leaves falling to the ground in the fall, and building snowmen in winter.

Interactive Free Play

The majority of each morning is open to free play to encourage healthy social interaction and the development of gross and fine motor skills. Children can be found digging in the sandbox, cooking in the "kitchen," hopping over logs, balancing on beams and slacklines, or constructing fairy houses and gardens.

Communal Meal Times

Robin's Nest children and staff share snack and lunch time together at long picnic tables in the play yard, allowing the staff to model manners (children must request to be excused from the dining area in addition to "please" and "thank you"), and healthy eating behaviors for the children to emulate.
